Free Insulation Offered to Scottish Homeowners
A new Sottish government scheme, including 19 local authorities, has been launched offering free or subsidised insulation to 200,000 households.The scheme is in place to reduce energy bills through out the cold scottish winters. The two methods offered are cavity wall insulation and loft insulation, both which will reduce energy bills.
Cavity wall insulation can reduce energy bills by £110 per year and loft Insulation can take £145 off annual energy bills (Energy Saving Trust). Alex Neil, The Housing and Communities Minister for Scotland said "Offering householders a means to keep the heat in is a great way to help families, the elderly and others to save money. Adding "If we have a winter like last winter this will be more important than ever."
