Get me a Tradesman supports the "Get Britain Building" campaign. The campaign headed by British Precast, the Builders Merchants Federation, the Federation of Master Builders and the Modern Masonry Alliance and supported by over 30 industry organisations, aims to use a 10 point plan to get the construction industry moving again.
The 10 point plan involves cutting VAT to 5% for building repair and maintenance work; implementing a strategy to efficiently deal with the Uk's housing stock; targeting local authorities on fast track planning processes for land for social housing.
Why is it important to "Get Britain Building"?
28% of UK employment is generated through the construction industry. In the last recession over 500,000 jobs were lost in this industry. The campaign aims to prevent this from happening again and make it easier for the construction industry to keep building.
