Increase in homeowner spending on Garden Lighting
Homeowners have increased spending on home improvement projects, specifically garden lighting according to Elstead Lighting.
This increase has been linked to the slow property market and the decision that many homeowners have made to stay and improve rather than move.
Managing Director of Elstead Lighting, Jonthan Lucas, commented "We have seen a trend where people are tending to stay put in the house they are in rather than moving. The property market is not so buoyant as it was and there is more spend going on to develop the home and that also covers the garden."
This backs up research conducted earlier this month by Everest, which found that 18 million homeowners plan to upgrade their properties in the next year.
