Look After Your Home & Reduce Long Term Costs

A recent survey has suggested that using Tradesmen to carry out Property Maintenance repairs can reduce long term costs and improve residents well being.

A survey conducted by insurance company Churchill revealed that 49% of homeowners do not clean or remove rubbish from cutters and down pipes. Failing to do this can result in water damage to bricks and even long term damp problems. Which can have negative effects of residents heath due to an increase in household mold, along with higher financial implications in the future.

When it came to central heating systems Churchill found that 42% of home owners did not regularly service their boilers, which can result in unexpected breakdowns.
Head of Churchill Home Insurance, Martin Scott stated "It is easy to ignore your boiler and central heating in the summer months, but you should make sure they are in good working order.” He also warned homeowners not to put the off job until winter.

Martin Scott also pointed out the importance of keeping up to date with property maintenance repairs, highlighting the fact that general ware is not covered in household insurance.

Saga highlighted the link between the need for home improvement repairs and householders age. Revealing that 34% of over 50’s needed repairs to their homes.
